This trial is looking for obese patients who have knee arthritis and are interested in receiving a steroid injection. Participants will be evaluated to see if a low dose steroid treatment works as well as a standard dose for managing knee pain and function.
You may be able to join if
- I have a BMI of 30 or higher.
- I have been diagnosed with knee osteoarthritis confirmed by X-ray.
- I am interested in receiving a steroid injection for my knee arthritis.
You may not be able to join if
- I have a BMI lower than 30.
- I have uncontrolled diabetes with a hemoglobin A1c above 8%.
- I have received any other treatment in the time frame of the study.
- I am currently undergoing physical therapy.
