Who this trial is looking for

This trial is looking for children and their parents to participate in a program that provides healthy, frozen meals during cancer treatment. Families will receive these meals for 12 weeks to see if it helps with the child’s health and nutrition.

You may be able to join if

  • I am between 12 and 17.9 years old.
  • I have completed at least one cycle of cancer chemotherapy.
  • I expect to undergo at least two more cycles of chemotherapy.
  • I can communicate in English or Spanish.
  • I am under the care of UNC Chapel Hill's Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.
  • I am the primary parental caregiver of an eligible child.
  • I am 18 years or older.

About This Trial

The purpose of this project is to learn whether an intervention that provides households with home-delivered healthy, frozen meals tailored to illness related conditions for 12 weeks during a child's treatment for serious illness is feasible and acceptable to the child and parent mainly responsible for the child's care.

Inclusion Criteria: Eligible children (n=15) will: * be under the care of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology * have completed at least one cycle of cancer chemotherapy that included an agent known …
