Who this trial is looking for

This trial is looking for adults with early-stage colorectal cancer and either kidney disease or without chronic kidney disease. Participants will provide tumor tissue samples during surgery and complete various health assessments.

You may be able to join if

  • I am at least 18 years old.
  • I have been diagnosed with stage I or II colorectal cancer.
  • I am expected to live longer than 3 months.
  • I can understand and sign a consent form.
  • I have stable kidney function.
  • I have adequate liver and bone marrow function if I am in the non-CKD group.
  • I have chronic kidney disease if I am in the CKD group.

You may not be able to join if

  • I have had recent acute kidney failure.
  • I have had a kidney transplant.
  • I have a recent history of serious allergic reactions to contrast agents.
  • I have psychiatric disorders that affect my ability to consent.
  • I have other types of cancer in the past 5 years.
  • I am pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • I have recently undergone invasive treatments.
  • I have had recent cardiovascular events.

The incidence of colorectal cancer (CRC) is higher in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) compared to general population.
