Inclusion Criteria:
* aged, or believed to be aged
* 18 years or above
* confirmed or suspected life-threatening bleeding from trauma (i.e. signs of inadequate perfusion of tissues, tachycardia, hypotension, suspected blood loss)
* need for volume replacement therapy.
