Who this trial is looking for

This trial is looking for adults who spend a lot of time in front of screens in the evening and may have health issues related to weight or blood sugar. Participants will use technology and simple strategies to improve their health habits.

Are You a Good Fit for This Trial?

You may be able to join if

  • I am at least 26 years old.
  • I have a body mass index (BMI) of 27 or higher.
  • I do not get enough exercise according to physical activity guidelines.
  • I spend 3 or more hours on screens for fun each day.
  • I eat or drink after 8:00 PM on a typical night.
  • I meet at least 2 criteria for metabolic syndrome.

You may not be able to join if

  • I have conditions that disrupt my sleep.
  • I have a history of low blood sugar.
  • I have a pacemaker.
  • I consume too much caffeine or after 5 PM.
  • I am currently involved in another weight loss program.
  • I have recently changed my weight by 5% or more.
  • I use drugs or excessive alcohol.
  • I smoke or use any form of nicotine.

About This Trial

The purpose of this study is to determine the feasibility, acceptability, efficacy, and participant adherence in using home-based technologies and wearable devices and simple, practical strategies to reduce the negative impact that evening screen time may have on your health.
