Patients on oral anticoagulant therapy with vitamin K antagonists (AVKs; warfarin and acenocoumarol) and direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs; apixaban, dabigatran, edoxaban and rivaroxaban), are advised to consider discontinuing treatment in anticipation of invasive manoeuvres.
