This trial is looking for adults with heart disease and obesity. Participants will receive either maridebart cafraglutide or a placebo while continuing usual care.

You may be able to join if

  • I am 45 years or older
  • I have a BMI of 27.0 or higher
  • I have been diagnosed with atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease
  • I have had a heart attack or stroke in the past

You may not be able to join if

  • I have had a heart attack or stroke in the past 2 months
  • I have had hospitalization for heart failure in the past 2 months
  • I have type 1 diabetes or other types of diabetes except type 2
  • I have experienced severe low blood sugar in the past 6 months
  • I have a personal or family history of certain thyroid cancers
  • I have active hepatitis or liver disease
  • I am planning to become pregnant during the trial
  • I have had cancer in the past 5 years, except for certain skin cancers

About This Trial

The primary objective of this trial is to demonstrate that maridebart cafraglutide is superior to placebo when given as an adjunct to standard of care with respect to reducing cardiovascular (CV) morbidity and mortality.
