Who this trial is looking for

This trial is looking for women with breast cancer who are having surgery. Participants will compare two methods for managing pain after surgery to see which one works better.

Are You a Good Fit for This Trial?

You may be able to join if

  • I am a female breast cancer patient.
  • I am having a Modified Radical Mastectomy.
  • I am between 18 and 65 years old.
  • I have a Body Mass Index (BMI) between 20 and 35.
  • I have an ASA physical status of II or III.

You may not be able to join if

  • I am over 65 years old or under 18 years old.
  • My BMI is below 20 or above 35.
  • I have a known allergy to local anesthetics or opioids.
  • I have a history of psychological disorders or chronic pain.
  • I have severe respiratory, cardiac, hepatic, or renal disease.
  • I have contraindications to regional anesthesia.
  • I have an ASA physical status of IV.
  • I choose not to participate.

About This Trial

This study compares two nerve block techniques-Rhomboid Intercostal with Sub-Serratus Plane Block versus Erector Spinae Plane Block-for pain relief after breast cancer surgery. It aims to determine which method provides better postoperative pain control, reduces opioid use, and improves recovery in patients undergoing modified radical mastectomy at the National Cancer Institute, Cairo University.
