Who this trial is looking for

This trial is looking for adults with Graves' disease who need surgery to remove their thyroid gland. Participants will have their thyroid examined for unrecognized cancer during the surgery.

  • I am 18 years or older.
  • I have been diagnosed with Graves' disease.
  • I need total thyroidectomy surgery for Graves' disease.
  • I have not had previous thyroid surgery.
  • I can give written informed consent.
  • I understand the study procedures.

You may not be able to join if

  • I am under 18 years old.
  • I have had previous neck irradiation.
  • I have a known thyroid cancer diagnosis.
  • I cannot provide informed consent.
  • I am having surgery for something other than Graves' disease.
  • I am not scheduled for a total thyroidectomy.
