Who this trial is looking for

This trial is looking for adults aged 18 to 74 who are currently experiencing a depressive episode connected to bipolar disorder. Participants will receive either azetukalner or a placebo to see how well it works and its safety.

You may be able to join if

  • I am between 18 and 74 years old.
  • I had my first major depressive episode before I turned 50.
  • My Body Mass Index (BMI) is between 18 and 40.
  • I have been diagnosed with bipolar I or II disorder.
  • I am currently in a depressive episode lasting between 4 weeks and 12 months.

You may not be able to join if

  • I have a diagnosis of any major depressive disorder.
  • I have a non-bipolar psychiatric condition.
  • I have a substance use disorder in the past 6 months.
  • I have had a significant eating disorder in the last 12 months.
  • I had a young mania rating score above 12 at my screening.
  • I was hospitalized for mania in the last 30 days.
  • I have been treatment-resistant in my current depressive episode.
  • I have had active suicidal thoughts or behaviors in the past 6 months.

X-CEED is a Phase 3, multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of azetukalner in adult participants diagnosed with bipolar I or II disorder who are currently in a depressive episode (bipolar depression).
