Acute ischemic stroke (AIS) due to medium vessel occlusion (MeVO) or severe stenosis poses a significant clinical challenge. Recent large randomized controlled trials, DISTAL and ESCAPE-MeVO, demonstrated no significant benefit of endovascular therapy in patients with MeVO.
