Who this trial is looking for

This trial is looking for women aged 18 to 55 who are receiving care during pregnancy or planning for pregnancy. Participants will consider whether they want genetic testing for hereditary cancer risks while getting standard prenatal care.

Are You a Good Fit for This Trial?

You may be able to join if

  • I am between 18 and 55 years old.
  • I am receiving obstetrical-related care at a CUMC-affiliated site.
  • I have chosen to undergo obstetrical carrier screening.
  • I can speak and read in English or Spanish.

You may not be able to join if

  • I have completed a multigene hereditary cancer syndrome panel before.
  • I have a hematologic cancer or hematologic pre-cancer.
  • I have a history of an autologous bone marrow transplant.

About This Trial
The investigators hypothesize that preconception and pregnancy may be a feasible and effective time to offer inherited cancer risk screening. This study will assess interest in cancer genetic testing among patients receiving routine prenatal care or preconception care. The goal is to evaluate the acceptability of hereditary cancer testing when offered alongside standard prenatal genetic screening.…
