This trial is looking for adults who need hip replacement surgery due to osteoarthritis. Participants will undergo different surgical approaches and their walking will be evaluated after the surgery.
You may be able to join if
- I am over 18 years old.
- I am scheduled for hip replacement surgery for osteoarthritis.
- I have a BMI less than 35.
- I can walk unassisted for more than 150 feet before the surgery.
You may not be able to join if
- I have had previous hip surgery on the same side.
- I have a neurological disorder that affects my walking.
- I cannot have either the direct anterior or posterior approach for surgery.
