This trial is looking for people who have difficulty swallowing, especially those with a history of stroke. Participants will wear a new microphone that collects sounds of swallowing during a standard test.
You may be able to join if
- I have been diagnosed or suspected to have had a stroke
- I am between 40 and 85 years old
- I am male or female
- I am scheduled for a swallow test due to trouble swallowing
You may not be able to join if
- My body mass index (BMI) is greater than 35
- I have a history of head and neck cancer treatment

Check Your EligibilityThis study aims to collect swallowing acoustics with a novel non-invasive wearable surface microphone device during routine work-up, videofluoroscopic swallow study (VFSS), of patients with dysphagia (swallowing trouble). The collected microphone data will be analyzed to find the pattern of abnormal swallowing by machine learning algorithm.
