Who this trial is looking for

This trial is looking for adults aged 18 to 40 who have asthma that is well controlled. Participants will practice two different breathing techniques alongside neck exercises for four weeks to see which approach helps improve breathing and posture.

You may be able to join if

  • I am between 18 and 40 years old.
  • I have been diagnosed with asthma.
  • My asthma is well controlled.
  • I have forward head posture.
  • I have not done any structured exercise for lung function in the last 6 months.
  • I can handle a combination of breathing exercises and neck exercises.

You may not be able to join if

  • I have severe asthma or status asthmaticus.
  • I have a congenital deformity of my chest wall.
  • I have an active infection like fever or TB.
  • I have any reasons that prevent me from exercising.
  • I have had chest wall trauma recently.
  • I have had any abdominal or chest surgery.
  • I have a psychiatric illness.
  • I am pregnant.

About This Trial
Asthma is characterized by airway inflammation and hyperinflation that flattens the diaphragm and increases reliance on accessory neck muscles. Chronic overuse shortens these muscles and promotes forward head posture (FHP), which in turn compromises rib-cage motion and respiratory mechanics.
