This trial is looking for adults with advanced liver cancer who want to try a new treatment alongside standard care. Participants will take a dietary supplement called β-alanine and their health will be monitored during the study.

You may be able to join if

  • I am over 18 years old.
  • I have been diagnosed with unresectable or metastatic liver cancer.
  • I have measurable cancer lesions.
  • I have not had suitable surgery or my cancer has progressed.
  • I agree to use birth control if I could become pregnant.
  • My important organ functions are within acceptable limits.

You may not be able to join if

  • I have a history of certain types of liver cancer.
  • I have received anti-cancer treatment or had a liver transplant before.
  • I had radiation therapy within the last 3 weeks.
  • I have had significant bleeding in the last 6 months.
  • I have severe issues with blood pressure or experience heart problems.
  • I have a history of serious lung problems.
  • I have had severe gastrointestinal issues in the last 6 months.
  • I have active pulmonary tuberculosis.

About This Trial

This study is a prospective, randomized controlled study on nutritional support and metabolic regulation. It assesses the safety, compliance, and improvement of metabolic/physical-related indicators when using β-alanine within the specified dose range as dietary supplementation, in addition to the standard first-line treatment. The anti-tumor efficacy (ORR, PFS, OS) is the exploratory endpoint.
