Who this trial is looking for
This trial is looking for veterans with moderate to severe PTSD. Participants will receive ten treatment sessions and undergo brain scans and some health tests.

You may be able to join if
- I am between 19 and 70 years old.
- I can get VA healthcare.
- I have been diagnosed with moderate to severe PTSD.
- I agree to have my PTSD assessment recorded.
- I can have my Motor Threshold tested.
- If I am a woman, I use birth control.
- I can read and sign the consent form.
You may not be able to join if
- I am pregnant or breastfeeding.
- I cannot have an MRI scan.
- I use clozapine or bupropion above 300mg.
- I have a pacemaker or defibrillator.
- I have metal in my head besides dental work.
- I have had a significant brain disorder.
- I have had a seizure in the last year.
- I have current psychosis or mania.

About This Trial
With this research investigators hope to begin to understand how rTMS can improve posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms. TMS improves PTSD through two interrelated mechanisms: change in brain limbic system function and change in systemic inflammatory activation. Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria:
* Age between 19 and 70
* Eligible for VA healthcare
* Moderate to severe PTSD as determined by a total score of at least 25 on the CAPS within 7 days of randomization.
* Agree to have CAPS audio recorded.
