This trial is looking for overweight or obese adults aged 25 to 45 who have poor sleep quality. Participants will take part in two different eating plans: one where they snack on pistachios, and another with their regular food habits.

You may be able to join if

  • I am between 25 and 45 years old.
  • I am overweight or obese.
  • I have poor sleep quality.
  • I am healthy without serious medical conditions.
  • I do not meet the recommended physical activity levels.
  • I am not on a restrictive diet.

You may not be able to join if

  • I am allergic to nuts, especially tree nuts.
  • I have a pacemaker.
  • I have a health condition that may affect the study, like diabetes.
  • I have had gastrointestinal surgery.
  • I am pregnant or planning to become pregnant.
  • I am currently breastfeeding.

About This Trial
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of pistachio snacking on metabolic flexibility (at rest, during exercise, and in post-exercise recovery) in healthy overweight and obese adults. Secondary goals include evaluating effects on changes in diet quality, sleep characteristics, physical activity, and hormonal health in women.
