This trial is looking for patients with uncomplicated retinal detachment. Participants will undergo a procedure called vitrectomy, and their eyes will be divided into two groups based on when a specific treatment called ILM peeling is done.

  • I have been diagnosed with uncomplicated rhegmatogenous retinal detachment.

You may not be able to join if

  • I have proliferative vitreoretinopathy (PVR).
  • I have recurrent retinal detachment.
  • I have tractional retinal detachment.
  • I have a retinal detachment with a macular hole.
  • I need scleral buckling treatment.
  • I have macular scarring.
  • I have had previous vitrectomy.

About This Trial

Patients with uncomplicated rhegmatogenous retinal detachment will be recruited. All eyes will underwent 23G PPV with silicon oil tamponade. The eyes will be classified into two groups according to the timing of ILM peeling. Group A, ILM peelin will be performed during the first intervention, while in group B, it will be done at the time of silicon oil extraction.

Inclusion Criteria: * Patients with uncomplicated rhegmatogenous retinal detcahment. Exclusion Criteria: * PVR * Recurrent RD * Tractional RD * Macular hole RD * Scleral buckling is indicated * Macular scarring * Previous PPV
