This trial is looking for postpartum women with high blood pressure. Participants will take either nifedipine with enalapril or nifedipine with labetalol to see which is better for controlling blood pressure after childbirth.
You may be able to join if
- I am a postpartum woman aged 18 or older.
- I have been diagnosed with a hypertensive disorder in pregnancy.
- I am taking nifedipine 60 mg every 12 hours for blood pressure.
- My blood pressure is persistently above 140/90 mmHg or at least 160/110 mmHg.
You may not be able to join if
- I have taken two or more antihypertensive medications during pregnancy.
- I have heart block.
- My heart rate is less than 60 or more than 120 beats per minute.
- I have heart failure.
- My creatinine level is above 1.5 mg/dL.
- I have renal artery stenosis.
- I have an active connective tissue disease.
- I have had a stroke.
