Who this trial is looking for

This trial is looking for adults who have been on a ventilator for a long time and need help with breathing. Participants will receive special physiotherapy that uses real-time imaging to customize their care compared to standard therapy.

Are You a Good Fit for This Trial?

You may be able to join if

  • I am at least 18 years old.
  • I have been on a ventilator for at least 21 days.
  • I am stable enough to receive respiratory physiotherapy.
  • I will remain on the ventilator for at least 48 hours after joining.
  • I have provided written consent to participate.

You may not be able to join if

  • I cannot undergo electrical impedance tomography.
  • I am unstable and need high doses of medications to support blood pressure.
  • I have severe low oxygen levels that cannot be improved.
  • I have unstable fractures that prevent me from moving.
  • I am pregnant.
  • I am expected to die within the next 48 hours.

About This Trial
Patients with prolonged mechanical ventilation (PMV) frequently experience impaired ventilation distribution, respiratory muscle dysfunction, secretion retention, and delayed liberation from mechanical ventilation. Electrical impedance tomography (EIT) provides real-time bedside visualization of regional ventilation and enables individualized respiratory physiotherapy strategies. This multicenter…
