This trial is looking for people with Parkinson's disease who are scheduled for deep brain stimulation surgery. Participants will help researchers learn about how brain activity is related to reward-seeking behavior by allowing neural recordings during the surgery.
You may be able to join if
- I am scheduled for deep brain stimulation surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center
- My surgery will contact the caudate part of the brain
- I am 40 years old or older
- I have been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease or another movement disorder
- I am able to participate in testing during the surgery
- I speak English
You may not be able to join if
- I am under 40 years old
- I am unable to participate in testing during the surgery

The investigators will utilize neural recordings from corticostriatal structures performed during deep brain stimulation surgery to measure neural activity underlying nonmotor symptoms of Parkinson's disease.
