Inclusion Criteria:
* Underwent thoracotomy
* Undergoing thoracic surgery for the first time
* Classified as ASA (American Society of Anesthesiology) physical status I, II and III
* Presence of a drain upon admission to the intensive care unit
* Conscious, oriented, and cooperative
