Who this trial is looking for

This trial is looking for Black families where a parent or guardian is between 18 and older and has a child aged 8 to 15 living in the same home. The parent or guardian should have prediabetes and be willing to commit to participating in the study for 20 months. However, they cannot have a serious mental health issue, previous diabetes, or any recent heart or kidney problems that would stop them from being active.

About This Trial

This study will provide evidence for the utility of using a community-engaged research approach to implement a tailored, family-oriented adaptation of the Diabetes Prevention Program that will have positive effects on risk factors associated with type 2 diabetes morbidity and mortality among Black families in a Southwest Georgia community.
