Who this trial is looking for
This trial is looking for adults with diabetic kidney disease who are already having a kidney procedure. Participants will provide a small blood and urine sample and allow researchers to use a slide of their kidney tissue from routine care.

You may be able to join if
- I am 18 years old or older
- I have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes
- I have a kidney function test showing eGFR of at least 10
- I am having a kidney biopsy or surgery as part of my medical care
- I can give informed consent to participate
- I have kidney tissue available for research
You may not be able to join if
- I cannot provide informed consent
- I do not have kidney tissue available for research
- Local policies prevent my tissue from being used for research

About This Trial
The goal of this observational study is to learn more about kidney health in adults with diabetic kidney disease and other groups. Researchers will study kidney tissue and other samples. They want to learn how sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 (SGLT2) inhibitors, a type of diabetes medicine, may affect the kidneys. Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria:
* Age ≥18 years
* eGFR ≥10 ml/min/1.73 m2 based on the 2021 race-free CKD-EPI equation13
* Underwent a clinically indicated kidney biopsy, living donor biopsy, or nephrectomy (non-tumor adjacent tissue available).
