Who this trial is looking for
This trial is looking for patients with kidney cancer or poorly functioning kidneys who are considering surgery. Participants will undergo either laparoscopic or open kidney surgery and will be monitored for recovery, side effects, and costs associated with each type of surgery.

I have an American Society of Anesthesiology score of 1-3.
I need simple total nephrectomy or hemi nephrectomy due to a benign non-functioning kidney.
I need partial nephrectomy for a localized kidney mass of 7 cm or smaller.
I need radical nephrectomy for a localized tumor without major blood vessel invasion.
I am able to undergo general anesthesia and surgery.
I can provide written informed consent.
You may not be able to join if
I need emergency surgery.
I am dependent on dialysis.
I have incomplete medical data.
I have metastatic disease.
I had extensive surgery in the same abdominal area before.
I need another major surgery at the same time.
I have locally advanced cancer with major blood vessel involvement.
I have a bleeding disorder that is not corrected.

Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria:
* American Society of Anesthesiology score 1-3.
* Indication for :
* Simple total nephrectomy or hemi nephrectomy: benign chronic inflammatory non-functioning kidney
* Partial nephrectomy: localized renal mass ≤7 cm suitable for nephron-sparing surgery.
* Radical nephrect…
Inclusion Criteria:
* American Society of Anesthesiology score 1-3.
* Indication for :
* Simple total nephrectomy or hemi nephrectomy: benign chronic inflammatory non-functioning kidney
* Partial nephrectomy: localized renal mass ≤7 cm suitable for nephron-sparing surgery.
* Radical nephrectomy or Radical nephrouretrectomy with bladder cuff: localized renal tumor requiring complete nephrectomy without major vascular invasion.
* Patient deemed fit for general anesthesia and surgery.
* Patient provides written informed consent.
Exclusion Criteria:
* emergency surgery, dialysis-dependent patients, planned hybrid procedures.
* Patients with incomplete data
* Patients with metastatic disease at presentation.
* Prior extensive ipsilateral retroperitoneal surgery or severe adhesions precluding Laparoscopy.
* Need for concomitant major procedures (eg, large bowel resection) at index operation.
* Locally advanced tumor with obvious major vascular involvement requiring complex vascular reconstruction.
* Uncorrected coagulopathy.
* Pregnancy or Obese patient (BMI \> 40)
* Inability to provide informed consent or comply with follow-up.
