Who this trial is looking for

This trial is looking for adults with a cough that has lasted more than eight weeks and hasn't improved with standard treatments. Participants will undergo behavioral therapy to help manage their symptoms.

Are You a Good Fit for This Trial?

You may be able to join if

  • I am at least 18 years old.
  • I have a chronic cough that has lasted more than eight weeks.
  • I have not responded to standard treatments for common causes of chronic cough.
  • I experience cough triggered by talking, laughing, cold air, or irritants.
  • I have throat irritation or frequent throat clearing.

You may not be able to join if

  • I am a current smoker or quit smoking in the last six months.
  • I have an active lung or heart disease.
  • I have had a recent respiratory infection.
  • I have taken angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors recently.
  • I have significant problems with my larynx.
  • I have a neurological disorder affecting my cough reflex.
  • I cannot follow the study procedures.
  • I have head or neck issues like sinusitis or muscle tension dysphonia.

About This Trial

Chronic cough is defined as cough persisting for more than eight weeks. It is a common clinical problem that significantly impairs patients' physical, psychological, and social quality of life. Chronic cough remains a diagnostic and therapeutic challenge despite systematic evaluation and treatment of common etiologies such as asthma, gastroesophageal reflux disease
