This trial is looking for adults with diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-D) to see if repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) can help alleviate their symptoms. Participants will undergo assessments of their symptoms and gut health during the study.
You may be able to join if
- I am between 18 and 60 years old.
- I have been diagnosed with diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-D).
- I have abdominal pain at least one day per week.
- My IBS symptoms are moderate to severe.
- I follow a non-vegetarian diet and have stable eating habits.
- If I am over 50, I have had a normal colonoscopy in the last three years.
You may not be able to join if
- I have a history of gastrointestinal disease.
- I have had surgery on my gastrointestinal tract.
- I was diagnosed with Helicobacter pylori infection in the last 2 years.
- I have a history of gluten or lactose intolerance.
- I have cancer or a neurological condition.
- I have severe systemic diseases like uncontrolled diabetes.
- I am pregnant, breastfeeding, or have been pregnant in the last year.
- I have severe needle phobia or metal allergies.
