Who this trial is looking for
This trial is looking for people who have had a stroke and want to improve their arm and hand movement. Participants will receive specific treatments and training to help with their recovery.
Are You a Good Fit for This Trial?
You may be able to join if
- I had my first stroke between 1 and 12 months ago.
- I have a stroke that affects one side of my body.
- I am rated between stages 2-4 on a stroke impairment assessment.
You may not be able to join if
- I have apraxia.
- I scored less than 22 on the Mini Mental Status Exam.
- I have severe shoulder pain rated 7 or higher.
- I have severe contracture in my arm or hand.
- I cannot sit in a chair for 3 hours.
- I have unrelated injuries to my muscles or bones.
- I do not fit properly into the equipment used in the study.
- I received a Botox injection in my arm or hand in the last 4 months.

About This Trial
Sensorimotor impairments following stroke often involve complex pathological changes across multiple joints and multiple degrees of freedom of the arm and hand, thereby rendering them difficult to diagnose and treat. Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria:
* First focal unilateral lesion, ischemic or hemorrhagic
* Had a stroke 1-12 months prior to enrollment
* Rated between stages 2-4 on the Chedoke McMaster Stroke Assessment Impairment Inventory: Stage of Recovery of the Arm and Hand
