This trial is looking for women over 50 with early stage breast cancer who have had a lumpectomy. Participants will receive five sessions of targeted radiation therapy to help prevent cancer from returning.
You may be able to join if
- I have been diagnosed with invasive breast cancer or DCIS.
- I am over 50 years old.
- My tumor is smaller than 2.0 cm if it's invasive or 2.5 cm if it's DCIS.
- My estrogen receptors are positive.
- I have had a lumpectomy with clear margins.
- I have no signs of cancer in my lymph nodes.
- My performance status is 0-2.
You may not be able to join if
- I have multifocal or multicentric breast cancer.
- I have received chemotherapy before surgery.
- I have pure invasive lobular breast cancer.
- They cannot see my lumpectomy area clearly on scans.
- My tumor volume is more than 124cc.
- My lumpectomy cavity is too close to my body surface.
