This trial is looking for people with knee osteoarthritis. Participants will go through gait retraining sessions to see if it helps their knee movement and pain.
Are You a Good Fit for This Trial?
You may be able to join if
- I have been diagnosed with knee osteoarthritis.
- I am between the ages of 18 and 80.
- I can walk unaided for at least 20 minutes.
You may not be able to join if
- My body mass index is greater than 35.
- I have had lower back, hip, or knee surgery in the last 2 years.
- I have had knee arthroscopy or a pharmacological injection in the past 6 months.
- I have neurological or musculoskeletal conditions that affect my walking.
- I have cognitive impairment that could affect my learning.
- I use a gait aid, orthotic shoe inserts, or a hinged knee brace.

About This Trial
The purpose of this proposed study is to investigate both the acute and chronic response of frontal plane knee moment after gait retraining and to assess the effects on the biomechanics of the contralateral side. Fifty-one patients diagnosed with tibiofemoral joint osteoarthritis (TFJ OA) will be recruited to participate in the proposed study. Participants will complete baseline trials to assess g…

Inclusion Criteria:
* a clinical diagnosis of knee osteoarthritis by a qualified health professional such as an orthopedic surgeon or physical therapist
* between the ages of 18 and 80
* able to walk unaided for a minimum of 20 minutes
