This trial is looking for black adults to help with research on kidney disease. Participants can have kidney disease or be healthy without any kidney issues. Healthy black adults over age 50 will also be needed as a comparison group.

Are You a Good Fit for This Trial?

You may be able to join if

  • I identify as African American, Afro-Caribbean, or another black individual.
  • I have been diagnosed with end stage kidney disease or have no signs of kidney disease.
  • I am a healthy black adult aged 50 or older with no known history of kidney disease.

You may not be able to join if

  • I have diabetic nephropathy.
  • I have kidney disease if I am a healthy control.

The Duke ApoL1 Nephropathy Biorepository aims to address needs within non-diabetic kidney failure research by utilizing existing and, when necessary, developing new infrastructure to support the consent of patients and the collection of dedicated samples for ApoL1 Nephropathy biorepository.
