Who this trial is looking for

This trial is looking for women with early-stage hormone-sensitive breast cancer who are interested in taking part in a study on surgery and hormone therapy without radiation. Participants will need to meet specific health criteria to join.

You may be able to join if

  • I have been diagnosed with Stage I breast cancer.
  • I have had a lumpectomy with no invasive tumor at the margins.
  • I have an ECOG performance status of 0 or 1.
  • I have an Oncotype DX Recurrence Score of 18 or lower.
  • I am positive for hormone receptors (ER and/or PgR).
  • I am HER2-negative.
  • I am premenopausal or postmenopausal.
  • I intend to take endocrine therapy for at least 5 years.

You may not be able to join if

  • I have metastatic breast cancer.
  • I have had a mastectomy.
  • I have suspicious lymph nodes that have not been confirmed negative.
  • I have non-epithelial breast malignancies.
  • I have a history of invasive breast cancer that was treated.
  • I have had recent treatments for breast cancer before joining.
  • I have any treatment plan that involves regional nodal irradiation.
  • I am taking any current endocrine therapy.

About This Trial

This Phase III Trial evaluates whether breast conservation surgery and endocrine therapy results in a non-inferior rate of invasive or non-invasive ipsilateral breast tumor recurrence (IBTR) compared to breast conservation with breast radiation and endocrine therapy.
