This trial is looking for adults who have difficulty walking after a stroke. Participants will receive an injection of Xeomin® in their arms and will be tested on their walking ability before and about a month later.
You may be able to join if
- I have been diagnosed with hemiparesis and spasticity from a stroke
- I can walk at least 10 meters without help from others or devices
- I have not had any lower limb surgery
- I have toe-ground clearance while walking without devices
- I have not received botulinum toxin treatment in the last 4 months
You may not be able to join if
- I have less than 30 degrees of movement at my ankle, knee, or elbow
- I have hearing problems that have not been fixed
- I have injuries that prevent me from safely walking
- I have difficulty with speech or expressing myself
- I cannot sense my body's position in space based on a neurologic exam
- I have fixed contractures in my arms or legs that cannot be corrected
- I have other neurological disorders or active serious illnesses

Check Your EligibilityThe aim of the present pilot study is to evaluate the association between change in gait related mobility in ambulatory male and female adult hemiparetic patients before and 4-6-weeks after Xeomin® injection into the upper limb, using two standardized tests of physical function in outpatient rehabilitation that are widely used; the 10-meter walk test and the timed 'up and go' test (TUG).
