This trial is looking for people aged 18-65 who have chronic headaches due to mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) for more than 3 months. Participants will receive a combination of specific brain stimulation treatments and therapy sessions.
You may be able to join if
- I have mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI)
- I have chronic headaches for more than 3 months after my injury
- I am aged 18-65
- I have not had any prior TMS treatment
- My headaches have an intensity of more than 30 out of 100
- I did not have daily headaches before my mTBI
You may not be able to join if
- I am pregnant
- I have a pacemaker or any metal in my body that prevents an MRI
- I have a history of dementia or major psychiatric diseases like bipolar disorder or schizophrenia
- I have another type of chronic neuropathic pain
- I have a history of seizures
- I am involved in pending litigation
- I cannot understand English
- I had chronic headaches like migraines before my mTBI

Check Your EligibilityThis study will assess the combined effectiveness of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) and telehealth based therapy in helping manage mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) related headaches. The investigators hypothesize that active rTMS combined with telehealth therapy will provide marked reduction in mTBI related headaches and symptoms in comparison to their placebo counterparts.
