Who this trial is looking for

This trial is looking for adults with severe depression that has not responded to previous treatments. Participants will receive a special brain stimulation treatment to help improve their mood symptoms.

Are You a Good Fit for This Trial?

You may be able to join if

  • I have been diagnosed with chronic or recurrent depression
  • I am currently experiencing a major depressive episode
  • I have a MADRS score of 20 or higher
  • I have not responded to at least two antidepressant treatments
  • I am between 21 and 80 years old
  • I can complete brain scans and cognitive tests
  • I am able to give written consent
  • I am not pregnant or I agree to use birth control

You may not be able to join if

  • The treatment may pose an unacceptable risk to me
  • I might need full body MRI during the study
  • I have been acutely suicidal in the last 30 days
  • I have a history of schizophrenia or psychotic disorders
  • I have a neurological disorder like epilepsy or dementia
  • I have had a brain injury causing cognitive problems
  • I have a history of bone disorders
  • I am taking MAO inhibitors
