This trial is looking for adults with weakness on one side of their body due to a stroke that happened at least 6 months ago. Participants will help researchers understand how placebos might help in recovery.
You may be able to join if
- I have weakness on one side of my body due to a chronic stroke.
- My stroke occurred at least 6 months ago.
- I have a motor assessment score between 12 and 56.
- Before my stroke, I had a low level of disability.
- I am 18 years old or older.
You may not be able to join if
- I have a specific type of stroke that affects the front part of my brain.
- I can't understand instructions.
- I have a medical device like a cochlear implant.
- I have unstable medical conditions.
- I have a high score on a depression rating scale.
- I have pain in my joints or affected arm that could affect the study.
- I am pregnant.
