Who this trial is looking for
This trial is looking for patients who had surgery for a broken arm or leg and might be experiencing depression. Participants will be screened for depression and may receive medication to help with their symptoms.
Are You a Good Fit for This Trial?
You may be able to join if
- I am 18 years old or older
- I speak English or Spanish
- I am visiting an Orthopaedic trauma clinic for the first time after surgery for a fracture
- I scored 5 or higher on the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 at my first follow-up visit
You may not be able to join if
- I am currently taking medication to treat depression
- I have an allergy to one of the study medications
- I have bipolar disorder or a psychotic disorder
- I have thoughts of suicide

Inclusion Criteria:
* Patients presenting to an Orthopaedic trauma clinic for the first time following operative extremity fracture or any pelvis fracture
* A score of greater than or equal to 5 on the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) at first post- operative visit
* Age 18 or older
