This trial is looking for healthy individuals and those with chronic kidney disease and type 2 diabetes. Participants will take doses of AZD4248 and may also track their kidney function at home.

Rules you out Type 1 diabetes

You may be able to join if

  • I have a body mass index (BMI) between 18 and 30.
  • I am a healthy individual with suitable veins for blood tests.
  • I have a BMI between 20 and 40 and have been diagnosed with diabetic kidney disease.
  • I have a hemoglobin A1C (HbA1c) of 10.5% or lower.

You may not be able to join if

  • I have a serious medical condition that could affect my safety in this study.
  • I have tested positive for hepatitis B or HIV.
  • I have a history of significant heart or vascular disease.
  • I have experienced severe allergies or reactions to similar medications.
  • I have had a major illness or surgery within the last 4 weeks.
  • I have used certain medications that affect liver enzymes recently.
