This trial is looking for adults who have had an ischemic stroke at least 6 months ago and have difficulty walking. Participants will receive vagus nerve stimulation along with mobility training to help improve their walking abilities.
You may be able to join if
- I am at least 18 years old.
- I have had an ischemic stroke over 6 months ago.
- I have trouble walking, with a gait speed of less than 0.8 m/s on a 10-meter walk test.
- I can provide informed consent.
You may not be able to join if
- I have had an intracerebral hemorrhage.
- I have had active or prior psychosis or substance abuse in the last two years.
- Before my stroke, my modified Rankin Scale (mRS) score was 3 to 5.
- I am unable to participate in in-clinic rehabilitation.
- I have a preexisting neurological disorder that affects my walking, like Parkinson's disease or dementia.
