This trial is looking for people with obesity or overweight and type 2 diabetes. Participants will use an injectable medication to help with weight management.

Must not be taking DPP-4 inhibitorsGLP-1 receptor agonists

You may be able to join if

  • I have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes
  • I have a body mass index (BMI) of 27 or higher
  • I have tried to lose weight through diet or exercise without success
  • I can give myself the study drug or have someone help me
  • I have been on stable diabetes medication for at least 3 months

You may not be able to join if

  • I have been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes
  • I have experienced severe low blood sugar within the past 6 months
  • My fasting blood sugar has been over 270 mg/dL on two non-consecutive days during screening
  • I have gained or lost more than 5 kg in the past 3 months
  • I have obesity due to other hormonal disorders
  • I have had gastric surgery for obesity
  • I have poorly controlled high blood pressure at screening
  • I have had heart problems like a heart attack or stroke within the past 3 months

About This Trial

The purpose of this study is to assess the efficacy and safety of enicepatide, a dual glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1)/glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) receptor agonist (RA), at multiple doses compared with placebo for weight management in participants with obesity or overweight and Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).
