This trial is looking for adults who are having total knee or hip surgeries. Participants will listen to binaural beats for 30 minutes after their surgery to see if it helps reduce pain and anxiety.
You may be able to join if
- I have a physical status of ASA 1, 2, or 3
- I will receive spinal anesthesia
- I will have a nerve block in the recovery area
- I am having a total knee or total hip replacement
You may not be able to join if
- I have moderate to severe hearing issues or use hearing aids
- I have significant tinnitus or active delirium
- I take high doses of opioids regularly (more than 60 MME/day)
- I have serious psychiatric issues
- I will be under general anesthesia

Check Your EligibilityTo deliver a 30-minute binaural beats audio intervention in PACU and collect pain and anxiety outcomes immediately following surgery, and 4 hours following surgery completion in adults undergoing ambulatory total knee arthroplasty and total hip arthroplasty (TKA and THA).
