This trial is looking for adults with type 2 diabetes that is not well controlled. Participants will take elecoglipron alone or with another medication and compare the effects to a placebo.

You may be able to join if

  • I have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes for at least 90 days.
  • I am not managing my diabetes well with just lifestyle changes.
  • My HbA1c value is between 7% and 10.5%.
  • My body mass index (BMI) is 23 or higher.
  • I have had stable body weight for the last 90 days.

You may not be able to join if

  • I have type 1 diabetes or another form of diabetes.
  • I am getting treatment for diabetic eye issues right now.
  • I have had severe low blood sugar more than once in the last 180 days.
  • I have serious issues with digestion or take medications for digestion.
  • I have a history of pancreatitis.
  • I have severe heart failure.
  • I have a family history of certain types of thyroid cancer.
