Who this trial is looking for
This trial is looking for individuals aged 18 to 65 who have experienced sexual assault and are struggling with symptoms of depression or PTSD. Participants will take part in a one-session therapy and complete some assessments before and after treatment.
Are You a Good Fit for This Trial?
You may be able to join if
- I am between 18 and 65 years old.
- I have experienced unwanted sexual contact or sexual assault.
- It has been at least 12 weeks and no more than 5 years since the event.
- I live in Ohio.
- I have at least moderate symptoms of PTSD or depression that have lasted for a month or longer.
You may not be able to join if
- I have a current diagnosis of schizophrenia or a similar serious mental disorder.
- I have bipolar disorder or severe depression that requires immediate treatment.
- I have attempted suicide or engaged in severe self-harm in the past three months.
- I am currently receiving cognitive behavioral therapy.
- I do not clearly remember the event.
- My medication for mental health has changed too much in the last three months.
- I am in an ongoing relationship with the person who harmed me.
- I have a current diagnosis of substance use disorder.

About This Trial
The goal of this clinical trial is to test a brief, new psychotherapy (called Positive Processes and Transition to Health - Single Session, or PATH-SS) that aims to provide relief for people who are suffering after experiencing a sexual assault. Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria:
1. Age range: from 18 to 65.
2. Has experienced unwanted sexual contact or sexual assault with a minimum of 12 weeks since the event and a maximum of 5 years since the event.
3. Residence in the state of Ohio.
